A brand to trust — We are honored that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® ranked number one in a recent Harris Interactive poll as the most valued non-profit brand and the charity people are most likely to donate money to. Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
Susan G. Komen for the Cure® remains committed to fulfilling our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever through empowering people, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing science to find the cures. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is focused on reducing breast cancer incidence and mortality within the next decade with increased emphasis on finding solutions for disparities in breast cancer across populations. With funds raised by the Inland Empire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, community grants will be made to support evidence-based strategies and promising practices to reduce disparities in breast cancer mortality in the Inland Empire.
Here in the Inland Empire, up to 75 percent of the funds donated remain here in Riverside and San Bernadino Counties to fund important breast health programs and services for uninsured and underinsured people. The remaining 25 percent of each dollar donated funds international research. In fact, next to the U.S. government, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest funder of breast cancer research in the world.
Drawing from outcome-based information from the 2011 Community Profile, and other local and national studies, the Inland Empire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has identified priorities for the 2012-2013 Community Grants Program.
